Seattle police seek public assistance in identifying a suspect in a violent assault that left a man critically injured downtown on May 4, according to police.
SEATTLE — Seattle police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect connected to a violent assault earlier this month in downtown Seattle.
On May 4, officers responded around 12:06 a.m. to reports of a man lying on the ground outside the Renaissance Hotel in the 500 block of Madison Street in Seattle’s Central Business District.
Investigators said the 35-year-old victim was bent over in front of the hotel when a suspect approached and hit him in the head with an object, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect then allegedly continued assaulting the man before leaving the area.
The victim remains in critical condition.
Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide and Assault Unit said the suspect is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 with a medium build and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white bucket-style hat, black jacket, black pants and red or pink shoes.
Police said the suspect walked north on Sixth Avenue toward Madison Street immediately after the assault and continued fleeing northbound on Sixth Avenue.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000 and reference incident number 2026-122908.
